Politics meets showbiz and 21st century pop culture in director Paul Weitz's mordant comedy. For the first time in four years, President Staton (Dennis Quaid) picks up a newspaper and soon becomes a virtual hermit as he begins questioning his narrow worldview. Unnerved by the president's behavior -- and to get him back in the limelight -- his chief of staff (Willem Dafoe) books him as a guest judge on the hit talent show "American Dreamz."

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** Cute political satire mocking American Dreamz. Hugh Grant is great in the Simon Cowell role. Chris Klein is hot as always. Mandy Moore proves herself again. I can't wait to see where she is in 20 years. Maybe a Oscar one day? I really like her. She's such a sweetheart. Dennis Quaid is hilarious as the President mocking President Bush. Also, as always, I love Jennifer Coolidge, playing the role of Moore's mother. I wish Joey would have stayed on the air just so she could have keep playing that role because she was great in that too.
