Bookstore owner Ellen Morgan (Ellen DeGeneres) and her cadre of friends -- played by Jeremy Piven, Joely Fisher, Clea Lewis and David Anthony Higgins -- return for another round of comic capers. The show's landmark fourth season features the famous two-part episode in which Ellen comes out of the closet. Guest stars include Trisha Yearwood, Queen Latifah, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Demi Moore, Oprah Winfrey and Melissa Etheridge.

A season full of hints and winks to her sexuality as Ellen, who had come out earlier to the public on Oprah and in Time, prepares to come out on the show, making her first lead homosexual in television history. Gave it an extra star for her coming out.
