{television} battlestar galactica; mini-series (2003)

This 2003 remake of the classic sci-fi television show recounts the saga of a destroyed civilization's last survivors, who band together in an intergalactic caravan with one purpose in mind: to reach their distant cousins on a faraway planet called Earth. The four-hour miniseries stars Edward James Olmos (as Cmdr. William Adama), Mary McDonnell, James Callis, Jamie Bamber, Katee Sackhoff and Tricia Helfer (as a malevolent Cylon infiltrator).

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** Having never seen the original, I was interested in a "re-imagining" of a classic sci-fi series. As well as one which was quickly becoming a pop cultural phenomenon. While I enjoyed most of the show, I was bored by several of the slower character storyline building moments. Overall a good start to what I'm hoping will be an equally good series.
