{movie} cars (2006)

Prepare to peel out with this revved-up animated adventure featuring classic automobiles, plenty of fender benders, guffaws galore and a Route 66 road trip with a crew that doesn't make pit stops. Who could ask for anything more? The star-studded voice cast includes Paul Newman, Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, Katherine Helmond, Cheech Marin, John Ratzenberger, racing legend Richard Petty and sportscaster Bob Costas.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** (Actually 2.5) I'm so torn about this film. I was really expecting more and this was REALLY disappointing. Maybe because I don't know anything about cars, nor do I care about them, or maybe because I don't like Nascar. This movie, as far as the story is concerned, was one of the weakest animated films I've seen in a long time. For the first hour, Larry The Cable Guy was the only redeeming quality of this film and that says alot. It got a little better as it went on, but just barely. The end was nice, and not just because it was the end, but because it was actually kind of sweet. However, overall, this was a big could miss.
