{television} blue collar tv; season one (2004)

Picking up where the popular Blue Collar Comedy Tour left off, this down-home TV series reunites funnymen Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall for a hilarious collection of sketch-comedy gems. Featuring a "word of the week" that ties the skits to a taboo theme, each show pokes fun at subjects that defy political correctness, including metrosexuals, rednecks, overweight people and dysfunctional families.
ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** First of all, I don't know why this season was split up into two sets. However, this was better than I thought it would be. These guys are so funny and they don't disappoint. There are some weak or really stupid skits, but for the most part the skits are funny and the guys are hilarious. While I've enjoyed their stand-up DVDs, when they are together they are better. My only complaint is that Jeff Foxworthy, who I don't think is the funniest member of the cast, opens EVERY show by himself with a 3-minute comedy routine. The others can't have a shot at the open every once in awhile? And also, I really missed Ron White as well. Too bad he didn't want to do the show. The Big Kids, Fat Family, and Politically Corrected-Up Fairy Tales with Larry The Cable Guy skits are instant classics.
