{television} csi; season two (2001)

In the second season of the hit CBS series, Detective Gil Grissom (William L. Petersen) continues to lead the Las Vegas Police Department's night-shift Crime Scene Investigations Unit, one of the top-ranked crime labs in the country. Grissom, along with his partner Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger), takes on difficult, gritty cases that other labs won't touch in this tight, tense crime drama that continues to push the envelope.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** The season started out really strong and the first couple of episodes had me hooked in a big way (especially the very strong "Bully for You" episode), but it started slipping a bit after that with some winners (like the amazing "Identity Crisis" featuring the return of Paul Millander) and some boring losers. However, the end of the season had some great episodes like "Stalker" and "Cats in the Cradle". The science is always facinating and the characters strong, but sometimes the stories just aren't that interesting (especially those that were in the middle of the season. Overall, it's still a very good show, but not a great show.
