Young mom Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) enjoys a relationship with her precocious teenage daughter, Rory (Alexis Bledel), that's based more on friendship than maternal love. Together, they face life's challenges such as dating, finances and social woes -- and even the required Friday night dinners with Lorelai's parents in exchange for paying Rory's tuition at a college prep school. ireviewnetflix.com rating: **** A great show with great writing, great characters, and great stories. Lauren Graham is amazing. Melissa McCarthy is also wonderful as Sookie St. James. This was a very solid first season of a series I look forward to investing more time in.
