{television} curb your enthusiasm; season four (2005)

Larry David is back as his bombastic, socially inept TV version in yet another laugh-a-minute season of the HBO series. This go-around, Larry gets a crack at co-starring in one of the biggest musicals on Broadway, "The Producers." As usual, Larry manages to irritate and anger his associates, including Ben Stiller and David Schwimmer, and even pushes ever-patient wife Cheryl to the brink as he tries to cash in an unusual anniversary promise.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: **** Another great season of comedy from Larry David and crew. This isn't situation comedy, it's situations comedy. The amount of stuff that David can get himself involved in (in only one episode even) is amazing. David saving himself during "The Producers" was great. Seeing Anne Bancroft and Mel Brooks together again celebrating the (presumed) demise of The Producers so that they could leave it behind them in that episode shortly before her death a year later was bittersweet.
