{television} da ali g show; season two (2004)

The genius of British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's mock talk show is that his "guests" don't often know when he's joking and when he's serious (which isn't very often). As Ali G, the hip-hop host who mangles words and ideas left and right, he interviews such heavyweights as legendary Sam Donaldson, conservative pundit Pat Buchanan, U.S. Olympic Committee president John Nabor, and ex-EPA Administrator and New Jersey Governor Christie Whitman.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** Sasha Baron Cohen is and always will be such a fool (in a good way). The characters certainly grew on me this season and even Ali G, annoying to me last season, kind of grew on me. The reactions that his characters can generate are not to be missed.

The best part about this show is that Sasha is such a frickin genius that people believe that he's for real. And that allows them to be drawn in for the ultimate practical jokes that his interviews really are. Best interviews ever were the James Lipton (Inside the actors Studio) And Buzz Aldrin.
