When a satellite crashes in New Mexico, scientists race against the clock to stop a deadly virus from spreading in this Oscar-nominated sci-fi classic based on Michael Crichton's novel. The probe carried an alien virus that's already killed all but two of the residents in the town where it landed, and it's up to a team of scientists to isolate and stop the virus. ireviewnetflix.com rating: ** (Actually 2.5) Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park, E.R.) and Robert Wise (The Day The Earth Stood Still)! Who could ask for more? Some action would have been nice. This movie was a little too scientific for my taste. It was just an all right movie, not a very good movie, but an all right movie. Had some very slow scientific moments, but overall I enjoyed it.
