{movie} down to the bone (2004)

A drug-addled mother of two, Irene (Vera Farmiga), decides to check herself into a rehab center in upstate New York, where she meets and falls in love with a fellow addict (Hugh Dillon) who's working hard to mend his ways. But when one of them relapses into addiction, can their soulful commitment to each other prevail over the insidious lure of narcotics? Debra Granik won the Director's Award and Farmiga won the Special Jury Prize at Sundance.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: * Thank god for the Watch Now feature on Netflix. I'm so glad this isn't taking up valuable real estate in my Queue anymore as this was a horrible independent film. The subject matter, a drug addicted mother, didn't appeal to me or interest me either. The camera work was also horrible. I gave up about 30 minutes in.
