{movie} hologram man (1995)

Crazed madman Norman Gallagher (Evan Lurie) has served his prison sentence in Holographic Status and is now up for parole in this action/sci-fi thriller. But after a slew of his minions meddle with the computer that holds him captive, Gallagher turns into the most horrifying killer imaginable -- a terrorizing psychopath with godlike powers. It's up to Kurt Decoda (Joe Lara), Gallagher's original arresting officer, to stop his deadly rampage.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: ** This movie is very much like Demolition Man. Deranged madman gets arrested, gets put on ice, or in this case converted into a hologram, and then gets out and goes crazy. However, Demolition Man was a great movie. This is barely all right. In this movie, the acting is really bad, the script is even worse, but still there's something about this movie that is just a lot of fun, once you get past the first 15 to 20 minutes or so. It's your typical sci-fi, action b-movie from the mid-90s. If your expectations aren't too high and you don't take it too seriously, then this is an enjoyable little movie. Plus it helps that Evan Lurie is hot! (But still a really bad actor!)
