{television} gilmore girls; season four (2003)

They just keep getting better (when they aren't battling life-changing travails, that is); those beloved Gilmore Girls, Rory and Lorelai, return for a fourth hit season filled with snappy dialogue and intriguing stories. This season, Rory (Alexis Bledel) starts her first year at Yale University, and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) opens the Dragonfly Inn for business -- at long last -- thanks to a timely loan from Luke Danes (Scott Patterson).

ireviewnetflix.com rating: **** (Actually 3.5) This season almost lost me. I was just so disconnected from the storylines. It became just another very good show instead of being the great show it once was. While I still love the characters and the writing and the cast, the storylines were just a little weak this season and not as good as the first two seasons and continued a downfall that started during the third season. Rory in college was just dull and Sookie and Lorelai opening the inn wasn't that great either. Paris and the professor was boring as well. Plus, the Lorelai/Luke saga is weighing thin on my nerves. Get together already! Kathleen Wilhoite was a great addition, though. I love her! I'm still going to check out the fifth season, but I am hoping it gets better which I never thought I would find myself hoping with the Gilmore Girls. And who the hell told Sebastian Bach he could A) act or B) was still relative? And why does he have a recurring role?
