{movie} absolute power (1997)

Cat burglar Clint Eastwood finds himself in the president's doghouse when he witnesses the chief executive (Gene Hackman) trysting with a trophy wife. When their rough romancing turns lethal, efforts to cover up the president's scandalous situation spiral violently out of control. Now, Eastwood must survive a desperate pursuit -- from the back streets of the nation's capital to the halls of power.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: ** This was was horrible. The first 30 minutes were unbearable and very fast forwardable and almost lost me completely. The pacing was painfully slow. And hasn't this been done before? Man in power kills someone and someone is a witness and the witness has to run. Actually, I think Gene Hackman already starred in a similar movie called No Way Out. Rent that one. Oh wait, in that one he was a Senator. In this one he's the President. Anyway, rent No Way Out. It's much better. This could have been much better if not for the weak story and the bad acting, especially that of the way overrated Clint Eastwood of whom I've never been a big fan.
