{movie} munster, go home/munster's revenge

This cinematic double feature of "The Munsters" television series has the family of spooks off to new madcap adventures. In Munster, Go Home! Herman (Fred Gwynne) inherits the title of Earl of Shroudshire and moves the clan to England, where they face opposition from a jealous relative. In The Munsters' Revenge, Dr. Diablo's (Sid Caesar) robot replicas of the family are wreaking havoc on the city, and the real Munsters must clear their name.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: ** This double feature was nowhere near as good as the television show. While it was nice to see the characters in color, the movies quickly reminded me why I didn't like the second season of The Munsters as much as the first season, the novelty quickly wore off. Also, the movies were missing something without the laugh track. The first movie, with the Munsters visiting London in "Munster, Go Home" easily could have been a two-part or three-part episode of the original series. And the second movie, "Munster's Revenge" while not better than the first movie, isn't as bad as everyone says.
