{movie} starting again; tears and laughter: the joan and melissa rivers story (1994)

Joan and Melissa Rivers play themselves in this made-for-television drama based on actual events. When her husband, British television producer Edgar Rosenberg, commits suicide, Joan struggles to cope with the loss and the overwhelming sense of guilt that she feels. Meanwhile, her career as a comedienne and talk show host is at an all-time low, and her relationship with her 19-year-old daughter, Melissa, is in serious trouble.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** They really should have let real actresses portray them because Joan and Melissa Rivers (especially Melissa) are not that great. However, this was an interesting look at a painful moment in their lives. But I would have enjoyed career retrospective on Joan Rivers herself instead of this.
