{television} monk; season three (2004)

Tony Shalhoub reprises the role that helped garner him an Emmy -- that of Monk, an obsessive-compulsive, San Francisco-based detective who must fight his own demons at every turn even as he goes about solving the toughest cases in the city. This season, Monk ventures beyond his comfort zone to New York City to find clues to an especially perplexing crime; digs deep into the seamy underbelly of the music world; encounters a blackout; and more.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** Another great season with more great mysteries. The cast is wonderful and Tony Shalhoub is excellent. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the first two seasons, but it's still a great show with a great cast. However, the departure of Sharona (Bitty Schram) was disappointing. While I like Traylor Howard, Sharona was a classic character and a wonderful pair with Monk and I'm sad we won't get to see the evolution of the inevitable relationship with Disher that had been hinted at in the past.
