{television} the munsters; season two (1965)

Believe it or not, this kitschy 1960s sitcom developed by the producers of "Leave It to Beaver" lasted only two seasons. But its memorable characters -- including dad Herman (Fred Gwynne), mom Lily (Yvonne DeCarlo), wolf-boy Eddie (Butch Patrick), Grandpa (Al Lewis) and Spot, the family pet -- seemed to last forever. This comprehensive collection of episodes from the show's final season includes the rarely replayed "Herman's Peace Offensive."

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** This season wasn't as great as the first season as it feels like the novelty had kind of worn off. The stories were kind of weak and just couldn't be saved by the wonderful character acting of the cast who tried their best. Still an enjoyable show, but not as great as the first season. There were some classic episodes like the one featuring Zombo, the one featuring Fred Gwynne without the Frankenstein makeup, and the one with the Fregosi emerald. However, as I said earlier, overall the novelty had worn off this season and I can kind of understand why this was the last season. I was however shocked that the show only last two season, but I can understand. Still the show is a classic. The inclusion of the Biography episodes featuring Fred Gwynne, Yvonne DeCarlo, and Al Lewis and the "First Family of Fright" documentary was also a nice addition to the bonus disc.
