{television} third rock from the sun; season six (2000)

The wonders and foibles of the human race continue to amaze alien team leader Dick (John Lithgow) and his zany crew of otherworldly visitors in this hilarious fifth season of the far-out hit comedy. This go-around, Dick has a car accident; Sally (Kristen Johnston) discovers birth control; Tommy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) takes a job at a pretzel stand; and Harry (French Stewart) falls into an abandoned mine shaft, sparking an all-out media circus.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: ** (Actually 2.5) By the sixth and final season of Third Rock From The Sun, this once hilarious sitcom had become a Third Rate Show Ready for Cancellation. The show was just reaching for humor, and not finding it within it's grasp, by this season and the novelty had worn off. I did enjoy the two-part episode "Dick'll Take Manhattan," but that was about it from this season.
