{television} the unit; season one (2006)

Noted playwright David Mamet created this gripping television drama that follows an elite special forces unit charged with carrying out top-secret military operations for the U.S. government. Of course, living a life with so many secrets creates problems for families of the unit members, a conflict that's explored in equal detail. Dennis Haysbert of "24," Scott Foley of "Felicity" and Abby Brammell of "Six Feet Under" co-star.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** (Actually 2.5) I just couldn't get into this show. There were a lot of fast forward moments, mostly the military moments, in this show. The characters took a long time for me to get into. The military stories are boring to me. It took me a while to get into this show and I'm still not fully into it. I would have much rather preferred more home front and less military. I found when I fast forwarded through the military moments and went straight to the home front moments, it was a little easier on me. It's a good show, but not a great show for me. However, Regina Taylor is the whole show for me. She's such a good actress and portrays a wonderful character.
