{movie} rocky V (1990)

In this final chapter of the series, a lifetime of taking shots has terminated Rocky's (Sylvester Stallone) career, and a crooked accountant has left him bankrupt. Inspired by the memory of his trainer, however, Rocky's able to find glory in training and takes on an up-and-coming boxer named Tommy (Tommy Morrison). When Tommy leaves his tutelage for a flashy promoter, Rocky's rage and sense of betrayal inspire him to fight one last grudge match.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: ** I did not remember Rocky V at all and there's a reason why: it sucked! It was the absolute worst of the series. The Don King-esque character is as annoying as the real Don King, if not more so. They tried to tell an interesting story via the teacher versus the student storyline, but they just couldn't execute it. The real life drama surrounding Tommy Morrison, who portrayed Tommy Gunn in this film, would make a more interesting movie.
