{television} absolutely fabulous; season one (1992)

Full of fashion, fun and wit, this award-winning British comedy centers on over-the-top Edina (Jennifer Saunders) and promiscuous Patsy (Joanna Lumley) -- best friends with a fondness for drugs, drink and outrageous behavior. In Episodes 1 through 6, Edina and Patsy stage a bizarre fashion show, confront the seemingly useless action of exercise, "celebrate" Edina's 40th birthday and help Edina's daughter (Julia Sawalha) with a school project.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** While I love Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French, "French & Saunders" was never my favorite show, but separately, with French in "The Vicar of Dibley" and Saunders in "Absolutely Fabulous," they are wonderful. Jane Horrocks, as Edina's ditsy secretary Bubble is easily my favorite character in the series.
