{television} mind of mencia; season two (2006)

Back with a second season of his critically acclaimed show, provocative comedian Carlos Mencia ups the ante with his fearlessly edgy wit and social commentary. Whether the topic is race, sex, politics or religion, Mencia's always willing to share his pointed opinions and call it like it is. Uncut and uncensored, this collection features all 14 episodes from the sophomore season, as well as never-before-seen bloopers and deleted scenes.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: **** (Actually 3.5) Not as great as the first season of Mind of Mencia, but still enjoyable. As for the allegations of plagiarism, doesn't everyone steal jokes. I think it's really convenient that it's coming up now that he's a big star, especially from Joe Rogan. I like Rogan as a color commentator on UFC and enjoyed him on NewsRadio, but I can't stand him as a comedian. He's just not funny. Rogan is just jealous. Rogan has also made allegations against Dane Cook. Interesting how the two top comics in America (Mencia and Cook) today have become targets for the struggling comic's ire. I will admit that some of Mencia's material isn't original, but at the end of the day who's material is 100% unique and original? And does it really matter? Back in the days of Vaudeville, material was always recycled by other acts. Mencia has just been the most successful with it.
