{television} survivor: the australian outback (2001)

The second season of Mark Burnett's reality series, set in the harsh Australian Outback, offers as much intrigue as the first, with fights, frights and phenomenal challenges that test the will of the contestants determined to outwit, outplay and outlast one another. Join host Jeff Probst and see how the final two players engineered the game so they'd wind up the last ones standing, and get to know the characters they vanquished along the way.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** I think this was the last season of Survivor I watched all the way through from the beginning. This season had the best cast members and some great moments. Alicia Calaway was my early favorite. I wanted her to kick Kimmie Kappenberg's annoying ass. Colby Donaldson was gorgeous and I immediately fell in love with him. This was the season that introduced America to the ultra-annoying, conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck who would go on to co-host and annoy me daily on The View. Jerri Manthey was such a bitch, but you just had to love her because at least she was an entertaining bitch. Marilyn was also another great, memorable character. As with the last season, the game aspect and the challenges bore me, but the drama is entertaining.
