{movie} summer storm (2006)

A young man begins to realize he has more than friendly feelings for his best pal in this coming-of-age tale. As champion rowers Tobi (Robert Stadlober) and Achim (Kostja Ullman) prepare for a big tournament, Tobi grows increasingly jealous of Achim's devotion to his girlfriend. Tobi avoids the amorous advances of a girl, and when a hunky, pride-filled gay crew team enters the meet, his sexual confusion thunders like an approaching summer storm.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** Leave it to the Germans to make a better gay film than gay American filmmakers. Most gay American films are crap, but this German gem was actually very good. The cute German boys didn't hurt either. The story was a little weak in places and the movie kind of dragged a bit, but overall it was better than most gay American films.
