{television} extreme engineering; boston's big dig (2004)

This absorbing Discovery Channel documentary examines Boston's protracted effort to ease traffic congestion by building a tunnel with a 10-lane artery more than 100 feet underground. Watch the final phases of the city's colossal urban-redesign project, which required more a decade of research and planning. The goal? To decrease air pollution, and to help Beantown's drivers navigate faster from one place to the next thanks to a smoother grid.

ireviewnetflix.com: *** A good episode about a topic that had quite a lot of controversy and news coverage attached to it. It was interesting to see this and fully understand the project. It still amazes me sometimes how traffic has dramatically changed the world we live in.
