{television} extreme engineering; tokyo's sky city (2004)

The metropolis of Tokyo, teeming with residents and workers, has long surpassed its maximum density. City engineers have determined that the only way to eke out more space is to build upward instead of sprawling outward; that's the idea behind Sky City, the subject of this engrossing Discovery Channel documentary. Tokyo's massive urban-planning project aims to erect 14 platforms stacked one above the other a mile above the city.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** This was a great way to start this series. I just decided to start watching this series because it was available for downloading through this website that I use to download television shows. This building looks interesting and something I'd love to visit when I go to Tokyo if it ever really gets constructed. The attention to detail is a bit overwhelming at times, but the series is still interesting nonetheless.
