{television} the unit; season two (2006)

Splitting time between the home front and the battlefront, this innovative drama series (from collaborators David Mamet and Shawn Ryan) chronicles the trials of Special Forces soldiers and their families. In the show's sophomore season, the squad travels to Pakistan to help an undercover operative who's on a mission to thwart terrorists. The cast includes Dennis Haysbert, Scott Foley and Robert Patrick.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** (Actually 3.5) Again, the military stuff bores me, but they turned up the personal family drama a notch this season and also presented some interesting military stories as well. A very good sophomore outing from The Unit. Almost as, if not more, enjoyable than the first season. This season's finale was definanly better this year than last years. It also helps that Max Martini (Master Sergeant Mack Gerhardt) is one of the most beautiful men on television, in my humble opinion. And can we please get rid of his wife. What a nut! Great actress (Abby Brammell), really bad character (good cause she's flawed, but also irritating for the same reason). She's managed to cheat on his twice in as many seasons. Anyway, great season and the next season looks like it's going to be even better.
