{movie} fantastic four: rise of the silver surfer (2007)

This sequel to the 2005 blockbuster follows Fantastic Four superheroes Reed (Ioan Gruffudd), Sue (Jessica Alba), Johnny (Chris Evans) and Ben (Michael Chiklis) as they battle the enigmatic Silver Surfer (Doug Jones), who travels the earth preparing it for total destruction. Director Tim Story's comic book adventure introduces viewers to the space-faring explorer Silver Surfer, created in 1966 by legendary Marvel writers Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** (Actually 2.5) I was really disappointed in this one. It wasn't nearly as good as the first Fantastic Four movie. I guess I was just expecting a better story and more depth. The plot was kind of a let down. The first 30 minutes were boring as hell as Reed and Sue planned their wedding. Once the Silver Surfer arrived things started to get a little better, but not much. It just could have been so much better and wasn't as great as the trailer led you to believe. I hope the next Silver Surfer movie, which has been announced and was to be expected, won't be as disappointing.
