{television} rescue me; season one (2004)

In this FX channel series, acerbic comedian Denis Leary plays Tommy, a firefighter whose job requires him to be at the ready to save other people's lives, even as his is falling apart. Tommy's marriage is in a complete shambles now that he's divorced; he doesn't see his kids every day; and his sanity is on the brink. And when his ex starts dating again, Tommy decides to move across the street from her … just to complicate his life even more.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: **** While there's now doubt that Denis Leary is the heart and soul of this show, the best part of this show is Mike Lombardi as Mike Silletti, Steven Pasquale as Sean Garrity, and Daniel Sunjata as Franco Rivera. God, they are hotter than the fires they pretend to put out on the show. Seriously though, the show is really well done and I really enjoyed the first season and am looking forward to seeing the second season.
