{television} 'allo 'allo; season one (1984)

For nine seasons, this much-loved BBC sitcom followed the travails of Rene (Gordon Kaye), a shopkeeper in occupied France who manages, with great regularity, to get himself into trouble with any number of higher authorities. He's hiding two British soldiers, and he's hidden an expensive painting in a sausage. To top it off, he's having affairs with two sexy waitresses -- and making sure his wife doesn't find out is more difficult than he thought.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: **** This was a surprisingly funny and entertaining show, much better than I was expecting. Another classic Britcom. The cast is wonderful and the episodes are always funny. I also loved the storyline format which reminded me a lot of Soap. Instead of strictly standalone episodes, the episodes really tie into each other well and the story continues to evolve and develop as the season goes on.
