{television} futurama; season three (1999)

These 22 episodes of the much-loved animated sitcom -- heavy on the sarcasm, satire and wit -- take viewers well into the fourth season and offer plenty of extras. Created by Matt Groening ("The Simpsons"), this offbeat series follows Fry (a pizza delivery boy in 1999, accidentally frozen, now defrosted in 2999) as he and his co-workers at Planet Express risk lives to deliver packages to the five quadrants of the universe.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** (Actually 2.5) Again, Futurama is not my favorite animated series, but it's enjoyable. However, this season actually made me kind of wonder why I liked the show at all in the first place. It has some funny moments, but overall the show isn't that funny to me anymore. There were a couple of funny episodes towards the end of the season like "Godfellas," but overall the season is not as great as previous seasons.
