{television} heartland; season one (2007)

Transplant surgeon Dr. Nathaniel Grant (Treat Williams) works so hard to save his patients' lives that his own life often suffers. His equally dedicated ex-wife (Kari Matchett) serves as the organ-recovery coordinator at the same hospital, further elevating the workplace tension. Gage Golightly co-stars as their daughter, Thea, and Rockmond Dunbar portrays co-worker Dr. Tom Jonas.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: * I was so glad when I heard this show was cancelled due to low rating, because I wasn't feeling it at all. I tried, but I just couldn't get into it. A really bad pilot gave way to several other weak episodes that I suffered through before giving up on the series, apparently like the rest of America. Treat Williams is good, but was much better in Everwood. I guess he also had better content to work with in Everwood. Poor Kari Matchett can't hook get a successful series. Her previous show, Invasion on ABC, was cancelled after the first season as was Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip on NBC, even though her role on that show was more of a secondary role, unlike her tole on Invasion and Heartland. She's a good actress and I hope she finds a successful show soon. Heartland is really just another medical drama, and not a very good one at that. There was nothing about this show that I liked.
