{movie} death sentence (2007)

Kevin Bacon stars in this dramatic thriller from director James Wan (Saw) as Nick Hume, a grieving father who decides to take the law into his own hands after his son Brendan (Stuart Lafferty) is senselessly murdered during a holdup. Based on author Brian Garfield's novel and adapted for the screen by Ian Jeffers, this gut-wrenching tale also stars Kelly Preston, John Goodman, Aisha Tyler and Garrett Hedlund.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: **** (Actually 3.5) This was a very solid action drama that managed to not only entertain with intense action scenes, but also entertain with intensely emotional dramatic moments. Kevin Bacon, as always, is solid as are John Goodman and Aisha Tyler. Also, Stuart Lafferty, younger brother of One Tree Hill's James Lafferty, is a cutie and I hope we get to see more of him in the future. ;)
