{movie} like it is (1998)

In bleak Northern England -- Blackpool, to be exact -- Craig (Steve Bell), a latent homosexual, makes his living fighting illegal bare-knuckle bouts. When the boxer falls for a record producer named Matt (Ian Rose), who's in Blackpool promoting a singer, he soon finds his world turned upside down. Craig follows Matt back to London, but things get sticky when Matt's duplicitous boss (Roger Daltrey) tries to split up the couple.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** The British do gay movies better than Americans, which is a really sad statement. This was a decent little film. A little slow at times and a weak ending hurt it a bit, but overall it was all right. The British still do independent gay film better than Americans.
