{movie} the devil wears prada (2006)

After taking a job in the Big Apple as assistant to powerful fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep, in a Golden Globe-winning role), small-town girl Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway) is thrilled -- at first. But the magic soon wears off, leaving Andrea feeling battered and used -- and wondering whether working for the boss from hell will pay off. Helmed by David Frankel, this adaptation of Lauren Weisberger's best-seller also stars Stanley Tucci.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: ** Not as good as I thought it was going to be. Everyone in the gay community was raving about this movie. Yet another reason why I have nothing in common with the community. The characters were weak, the story was weak, and I just don't care about fashion or the fashion industry which is another reason why I think I didn't like the movie. There were a few good moments, but overall this movie is just as empty and vapid as the fashion industry. I did , however, enjoy Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt's characters.
