{television} extreme engineering; city in a pyramid (2004)

Bustling Tokyo long ago outgrew its land density. Nearly every surface is urbanized, making Tokyo one of the world's most crowded cities. Where else can the metropolis expand? This Discovery Channel documentary chronicles the pie-in-the-sky plans of architects and engineers who've set their sights on Tokyo Bay, above which they hope to build Shimizu Mega-City: a kilometer-high, pyramidlike structure housing suspended skyscrapers within its frame.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: *** Man, if you want to live in the future, move to Tokyo, Japan as they seem to be ahead of everything when it comes to the future of urban living. This was another great episode of Extreme Engineering looking at the possibilities of an all inclusive city in one space.
