{television} rising damp; season two (1974)

Rupert Rigsby (Leonard Rossiter) is so detestable he's delectable as the parsimonious landlord of a shabby shanty. Week after week, Rigsby endures the antics of his hilarious tenants Miss Jones (Frances de la Tour), Philip the African prince (Don Warrington) and longhaired med student Alan (Richard Beckinsale). Relive the classic -- if politically incorrect -- moments of the 1970s hit British sitcom with this collection of Series 2 episodes.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: **** (Actually 3.5) Leonard Rossiter is absolutely wonderful. This show is hilarious and I enjoyed it very much. The characters are great, the stories are great, and the Rigsby character is classic. Richard Beckinsale, the father Kate Beckinsale is also enjoyable and passed away too soon, only five years after this season at the age of 31. Frances de la Tour was also wonderful, as she always is in anything she does and I'll miss her as she left the series this season.
