{movie} mr. woodcock (2007)

When self-help author John Farley (Seann William Scott) returns home to visit his mother (Susan Sarandon), he's shocked to find out that she's fallen for his sadistic high school gym teacher, Mr. Woodcock (Billy Bob Thornton). Now, with their upcoming nuptials looming, it's all John can do to apply his self-help techniques to his own life and make sure his mom says "I don't."

ireviewnetflix.com rating: ** This was disappointing. I don't know why, but I was just expecting more. The story was weak. The cast was Susan Sarandon is so much better than this kind of film. Seann William Scott is stuck in these kinds of roles and will never break out. Billy Bob Thornton is sometimes wonderful and sometimes crap and unfortunately, this time he was the latter. The only pleasant surprise is Amy Poehler, who is always funny.
