Three high school freshmen devise a novel plan for dealing with the treacherous school bully: They hire a bodyguard. Salvation comes in the form of Drillbit Taylor (Owen Wilson), a beach bum ex-soldier who teaches the boys some handy life lessons. Leslie Mann co-stars as an English teacher in this hilarious underdog romp co-written by Seth Rogen and based on an original idea by teen-comedy god John Hughes.

ireviewnetflix.com rating: ** (Actually 2.5) This wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either. Owen Wilson just isn't a very good actor. It wasn't a bad concept, kids hire a bodyguard, an idea apparently originally conceived by John Hughes, but the execution was poor and hampered by a really disappointingly weak cast. I think with a better cast this movie might have been a lot better. A did it really need to be longer than an hour and half. I think shorter also would have been better.
